front differential bearings

Has anyone put bearing kits in their front differential? I have been told that it takes special tools to set the "lash". I have found bearing kits for ~$100, but if it is not something that can be done without special tools then it is not worth getting. A shop would kill me on labor if I took in my own parts and said "put these in".

if you have to ask then you shuld just have it done when it comes to gears


and yes there are special tools involved. more than likely you could do it with just a brass drift since the gears are remaining the same, but I wouldnt chance it
