Morning everyone
I have 96 explorer 4x4 I have an issue with and I am wondering if this is just the way it goes?
I was backing up into some snow that was maybe 11 inches deep. I came to a stop and tried to move back somemore but the vehicle would not move any further backwards. A friend observed that the back tires were spinning but the front ones were not spinning at all. Is this normal for this vehicle since I would think that one of the front tires should be helping the vehicle move. Driving a dodge my friend kind of enjoyed this.
When driving on roads with ice and minimal snow conditions I can tell that the front tires are working with the back ones when I turn the 4x4 off and on.
Any ideas why the front ones will not turn when in deeper snow the drive train has to work harder?
Thanks in advance
John
