Is there an easy way to remove the front dome light cover up front on the ceiling and then put it back on? Somehow a bug got in there. This is on 2017 XLT Explorer.

Sorry, I can't help with that since I have a moonroof and don't have the ceiling mounted light you are referring to. I would guess that since the bulb may at some time have to be replaced, the cover should come off without too much trouble. There are members here who have changed out all the interior bulbs to LED so perhaps one of them will jump in and help you.

I also have 17 XLT & I have replaced the front dome light bulbs with LED. It's an easy process and makes a Hugh difference in interior brightness.

Using a very thin screwdriver, carefully begin prying the lens cover downwsrd. If you do not wish to change out the bulbs at this time, prying down the lens just a little will provide enough clearance to blow out the bug in question.

Check out the modified section for more info on changing to LED bulbs.

Does it matter what side of the cover you take off with the screwdriver? Left side right side etc?

LOL, I would start near where the bug is.

Slow and easy, start with a thin blade as mentioned. It's "softer" plastic and has plenty of flex.
