Front drive shaft noise

I have a 2007 ford explorer sport trac, 4X4 with 135,000 miles. The front drive shaft is clicking. While doing the brakes this weekend (truck on jackstand) I went under and the front drive shaft was very loose at the (wiggle and clinked by hand). Is this just the U-Joint, and is it fixable by a driveway mechanic? Is this better to take this to a mechanic?

If it is a single u-joint you should be able to fix it yourself. If it is a double-carden or CV joint then you are better off letting a pro do it. Crap, and I was just under mine last week to change the oil but I can't remember what the joints looked like.
