Front end noise and engine light.

when my wife takes off, she is complaining about a chattering noise in the front end. It almost sounds like a cv joint going bad like you hear on front wheel drives. She says the noise goes away after about 100 ft and doesn't come back. Any ideas?

The other problem she is having is the engine fail safe warning is coming on right after she starts it and starts backing out of the drive. If the truck is shut off and restarted the light doesn't come back on. This light only has come on during a cold start and take off.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 2002-2005 section. Find out what the code numbers are. The check engine light indicates that there is a code.

thanks brooklyn. I took it to autozone and they said the computer was showing no faults, but they also said they don't have access to some of the engine failsafe codes. They told me i would have to pay the ford garage to have the failsafe codes read.
