Front end noise.

When I turn left like into a parking space and hit the brakes I get a clunk or pop that sounds like it is in the left front. Sometimes there will be a squeak with it like metal on metal. It also makes the noise if I back up and turn the steering wheel left and stop. Never makes any noise going right or straight. The dealer can't find anything. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome. The first thing that comes to mind is the brake caliper sticking, check the slide bolts or pins, check the pads for uneven wear, make sure all the caliper bolts are tight.

Thanks for the reply. I will check it even though the dealer says they checked the brakes.

They may have checked the brakes but how thoroughly they checked may be a mystery. It could also be lack of lubrication at the ball joints on that wheel or possibly the ball joint is starting to go bad, check under the rubber boots on the ball joints, I do believe the factory ball-joints are not grease-able, they only have the factory lube when they are assembled. How many miles do you have on your Ex?

It has a little over 64,000 on it. I just returned from picking it up from the dealer. Once again they couldn't find the noise. They said the brakes and suspension are in good condition. Don't know if they looked at ball joints specifically or not. I will check it though. Thanks.
