I noticed some clunking coming from under vehicle and found that the tail pipe was banging on the axle so I rigged that up so the noise would stop. Went for a ride and found that the noise was still there (minus the tail pipe noise). The clunking sounds like it's coming from the front right side. It's a clunking that happens when the road is rough but it goes away completely when the brakes are applied. As soon as I touch the brakes the noise is gone. Any ideas?

I had this exact same problem. A clunking noise coming from the left however instead of the right. I took the wheel off, took my hub off and replaced the wheel bearing which had junked up and stuck. Replaced that and replaced the pads at the same time. Thats what solved it for me anyways. Have you inspected the wheel bearings

also, check the back break pad (take it off), and spring clip (if it's still there, otherwise, get another one). make sure the slider pins are all the way in (not sliding out, or missing!)

Thanks.. I checked the bearings and they are sound, unfortunately I don't have access to a warm garage and we got dumped on. So this will have to wait. This 4x4 rules in this snow and it's a blast to drive in it..Soon as the temps get a little better I will tend to this.. thanks again.
