I cut the front fenders off of my bronco 2 to clear the 33's tires...how to i fix the inner rubber fender that keeps the mud and water out of the engine compartment? It s a mudding truck and i dont feel like tearing up the engine more than i will the fun way!! Any ideas would be great! thx!:us:

Welcome. I'm about to add some inners to mine that will be made out of sheet metal.
Thinking of cutting about a 10" strip that I'll get at my local sheet metal shop.
I'll attach to the square tubing on the inside of cage.

Maybe you can add some thin sheet metal angle to the inside of the fender for a frame and then just cut some sheet metal to fit and pop rivet or screw to the angle frame.
If you go to a HVAC shop that has a shear they should be able to fix you up. They could even bend an angle at the other side of the sheet metal strip to give it a little support. You may have to make several sections trimmed to fit. You could even have them but X bracing bends in the metal for even more support.
Something like 18 to 22 ga should work. Just an idea.

I just slammed a big (but short) sheetmetal screw with a washer on it through the plastic fender into the firewall (also another smaller screw up front into the inner fender support to hold the front part). Seems to hold it just fine.

I cut the edges of my inners - its in my build thread. cant remember what page
