A couple of days ago I noticed my 03 Limited (4.6L) has developed a clunk. When turning a corner (i.e. steering wheel rotated at least 3/4 of the way around), and hitting a bump of any kind, I get a loud CLUNK from my left front wheel. I'm not feeling anything through the steering wheel when the clunk occurs.

I had a look at all the usual suspects, bushings, and so on, and don't see anything obvious. Anyone want to throw an idea my way that I could check out?

check the bushings on the swaybar and check the swaybar connect rods. that might be somethin to do with it. also - whens the last time you changed the ball joints?

Don't know if your '03 Limited is different from my RWD Gen 1 Sport Trac but ...
Check your steering bump stops for lubrication. (Heavy grease)
Sounded like a loud "pop" when turning in a driveway with a bump.
Parking at low speed with wheels locked at stops, like metallic grinding.
Sounded like a very serious problem. My cheapest fix ever.
