I have seen somewhere on here where someone has takin I'm guess f150 coil spring retainers and bolted them onto the front axle of the explorer actually I think he did it on a ranger. He listed the part numbers and the steps to do it in. Anyone know the thread if so please help thanks

has anyone used washers as a means to lift the front end? like putting them between the axle and coil seat

Yep, washers that are 1 3/8" I.D. and 3" O.D. fit under the stock coil seat. You can stack them to get 1-2" of lift pretty easy, though it's better to weld them together for anything really high.

where could i find a washer that big and do i need just a standard steel washer?

Check the local yellow pages under "Fasteners" or find your local Fastener supply, they should be able to get them for you even if they don't carry it as a regular item.

front lift

daystar makes a kit with extended bolts adapters and i think its 1.5" poly spacers. have on my navajo works well.

It's been a while since a did this most and I wad honestly surprised of how much the look of the truck wad improved with this mod. The only problem I have is now I have popping noises under the front end, had anyone else had this problem if so what was the fix?

popping in front end

i have the same popping from the front end , i think the spring is the culprit i check every thing in the front end and the radius arms . i have a james duff radius arm kit . when i go down my drive way i get a pop or two and then its gone . i should try some wd-40 on the spring perch . also have installed jd perch kit .

have no clue but it tracks well

You can purchase the washers at Ace Hardware here in Indy or the like. I think they were 1 3/4" ID, but don't take that for the gospel. I added 1 1/2" of washers and it ended up lifting just under 2". I didn't weld them, I just stacked and bolted them down under the springs. They haven't moved around or caused any problems but she's a road queen. I was too lazy to try and remove the f150 spacer without power tools from the local do it yourself boneyard and I figured later on if I had a wild hair, I'd find the cast f150 spacers already removed and I'd have the real deal.
