Front shocks

What should i do? I was removing the front shocks off my Explorer today and i torked off the rod which holds the bottom of the front shock on. It looks like it is pressed in but i am not sure. Does anyone know what needs to be done to replace this piece? Can you beat it out and get a new one to fit in the same place or do you have to have a shop custom make something?
