Has anyone tried to make a front skid plate for a '92 4x4? I did a search of old forums but didn't find anything. I just did the cheap lift withspacers and shackles so now I'm feeling that I need to protect the front end as it's more exposed. It seems to me that one could make one that bolted to the front axle and moved independently of the body. Has anyone got any ideas or better yet, pictures?

That's a nice plate but it's not really what I had in mind. I was looking for something that acted like this Dead Link Removed on Cameron's rig. I'm looking for something that will push the truck up when I run into a rock. Sort of acting like the front of a boat to lift the front up. Cameron's has an independent front end which gives him a great place to bolt onto. There's nothing like that on a TTB.

I'm not too sure how much I'd want a skid plate to support the weight of the Explorer. You'll ask for some trouble. I think it was MattAdams who has one on his. He has a Superlift kit, and was able to use the sway-bar extenders to hold the skidplate.

I believe my ex (dmeis) made that for Matt (if this helps any?)
