I just wanted to find out, on my 98 Sport, the front sway bar links appear to have a crack that runs from one threaded end to the other. Is this normal? As in similiar to the tie rod sleeves, or are they supposed to be solid and not slit (cracked, as it does not look like a cut)?

They should be solid, not split. The stock units are common to fail, but the steel rod going through them usually fails from corrosion and the top most bushing pops off. I have seen a few go in this way.

Ah ha! Wonderful! I have been experiencing this awful pop noise on an occasion or two when driving around. Making a turn or what not, I get a weird soft pop from the front suspension, so I was wondering. I got out yesterday and peaked up under there and was looking at the sway bar end links and both have a split from one threaded end to the next.

I travel 60 miles of dirt road everyday, on top of another 60 miles of pavement. Unfortunately there is a section of the dirt road that gets a little rough, so I am confident that I may have worn them out prematurely.

Thank you for the info! Just for giggles I may have to post up some pics! LOL
