..sounds like you need an alignment. If you don't have them yet, you will need adjusting bolts to aid in the alignment.

how do u add pics to the thread?

If your not an elite member (your not), you have to put them somewhere on the net like photobucket or flickr etc. . Then you can use the image tag [ img ] urltofile [ /img ] code to make it show..

Back to your orig question. Camber will make the tires wear on the inside edge. It takes extreme camber to make it happen anywhere near quickly. Toe will make it wear the edge of the tire fast..

Loose Bearings will make the tires lean in (Camber) and can make them wear the inside edge..

Also, you don't use any special adjuster bolts to adjust the camber on the 1st gens. You get excentric bushings for the Ball Joints. The alignment shop will look at what you have now, how much you need to move and then sell you the right size.

To set toe they just adjust the tie rod ends (no new parts).

If things are worn or broken, like ball joints or bearings etc they will tell you to fix them first and most likely offer to fix them for you for a hefty price..

I think you've got work suspension components (ball joints, bushings, etc) more than alignment issues. When you drove over sharp bumps or driveway entrances, do you feel some play/thumping in the front end like something is loose?

I would put some new components up there, and- most reputable alignment places won't do alignments if you have really worn out components anyway...

My front tires are cupping on the inside (wearing out would be seen like yours if I had less agressive tires) so I'm putting some new stuff in next weekend...

yeah every now and then if i hit a bump i can hear a thump on the front end

Yup. She's wearin' down. I'd put some new bushings in, then get an alignment. She'll ride a lot better...

ok i know where the ball joints go but where do the bushings go? i havent taken the tire off to get a real good look so im just wantin an idea of where they are

My tires wore out on the inside too. My bearings and bushings are all new. I'm pretty sure it is because of my worn out coil springs. So, I took a few measurements and it looks like new springs will put my camber back to the correct angle.

I know I need new coils and shocks anyhow. So, I'm going that route next week. I already got the parts. I'm soo tired of the worn suspension beating the **** outta me. I also decided to do the spindle bearings and stub shaft u-joints while I'm at it. Fun Fun !!!

Hopefully this saves me $$$ from needing an alignment as a bonus.

Good luck to you ! Let us know how things go.

well i replaced my radius arm bushings and im not hearin a thump anymore the ball joints are good as well as the shocks so i think the next thing ill do is get it to an alignment shop

heres what the front tires look like

Wow- yep, just wearing out old components... Glad you got it tightened up!

How difficult is it to replace the radius arm bushings? I have the same problem, when I go over certain bumps I hear a lot of rattling coming from the front suspension.

Thanks. I think that I will have a shop do it.
Well I just looked under the truck and someone else has already removed the rivets and replaced them with bolts. How long should the bushings last? Looks like an easy job now, maybe I will attempt it myself. I hope it gets rid of the rattling.

I had the bump and rattle and the inner edge feathering on the tires. Just did some ball joints and tie rod ends this weekend. The noise is gone but now it's off to the alignment shop. Damn Michigan roads finished them off.

i dont know how long they will last. but if u replace them yourself you will have to put a jack under the arm to take the pressure off so you can remover the plate.

Upo further review, it looks like the stock bushings were replaced with the eccentric? (camber adjustable) ones. I would assume that these should still be good. Maybe the rattling is from something else.
