Hi ppl , I am in the uk , and need help with front wheel bearings

Got a set local ,but they do not fit , far to big , part number on box is FBK774

£39 , for the kit , main dealer wants £90

I did take the first bearing off , out side di is about 45mm , on the new set of bearings 45mm was the inner size .

Ranger is a 2000 2 wheel drive 2.5

Can any one help ??

I have read a little about the History of the Ford Ranger , and in 1998-9 they made a lot of changes , any one know if the wheel bearings was one of them .
They may have used up all the old parts on the change over ?

more spec's

To determine what wheel bearing you need, more info is needed.

Year,
extended cab or short,
engine size,
2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive,
2 wheel abs or 4 wheel abs

with that info I can book the right bearing

I checked a couple parts websites, and they both said your wheel bearing is the same as my 93 4WD, surprisingly.
So, it should look like this.
The race is on the left, bearing on the right.
I found an old one in my garage and measured it, and the inner diameter is about 45mm.
So, are you sure what you have off is the bearing?
Can you post us a pic?

Hi , yes the bearing looks like that , but the out side di is 45 mm , ie a very small bearing , in the book the ranger uses the same bearings from 1990 on , I asked about the B2000 size and they are still to big at over 50 mm out side di .
The truck is a 2 wheel drive Ranger 2000 , just 2 seats not a king cab

Thats my job for today , strip them out and get the numbers , fingers crossed they will be in store .
Will post the numbers , so if any one else has the same issue , they can get the bearings before starting the job

Ok all fixed now , I guess this may just be for the UK

Small bearing is HR 30205 J and HR 30205 J , ID is 25 mm

The bigger bearing is LM 48548 N and LM 48510 N , ID about 35 mm

I say about on the bigger bearing as it is in inches ,and the small one is in mm

All from BSL ltd , £25 inc vat

So if you find , the bearing kit FBK774 is to big for your 2 wheel drive Ranger , these are the bearings you need

A saving of some £60 , got the oil seal from the main dealer at £3.30 , so thats not to bad

Not sure why , as the book says FBK774 fits all Rangers from 1990 , well now we know different

I did not shop around for the bearings , just rung BSL , as they are just down the road , and the truck was off the road
