About 1/2 a year ago or more, my explorer had been vibrating when turning the wheels. I opened the hood and it needed some power steering fluid because it was below the minimum line.

The problem mostly went away, but occasionally while turning at really low speeds, between 0 to maybe 10mph, but mostly under 5mph, the front wheels still vibrate. It's not as bad as when the fluid was low and it mostly occurs when turning the wheels on our concrete apron and manuvering to get into the garage, both are pretty smooth surfaces. And that's probably the only time I go that slow when turning.

Should I be worried about it, or will it just take time before much improvement. Keep in mind that it is not a daily driver, so the problem may take longer for it to fix itself. I also believe that the power steering pump has been replaced once and the truck currently has about 76,500 on it. Thanks for all you input.

I read where you turn your wheels from lock to lock a couple of times to get air pockets out of line.

What do mean by that exactly?

Marc, try lubing the caliper guide pins.

If that dosen't work, just drive the chariot......:D

Don't rule out the belt slipping. Check it's condition, and also check the tensioner. A dry belt and lose tensioner will make it slip under a load.

lock to lock is all the way to the right, then all the way to the left....

so turn the wheels as far as they can go in say a parking lot and that will release pressure.

What belt do you mean? drive belt, because that has been replaced once before.
