Hey so I have a problem with my front wiper mist not working.
I've searched everywhere on this forum and have troubleshooted almost everything, just looking for some insight..

98 ford explorer sport

Front washer fluid does not work, but wipers and everything is just fine. Rear washer fluid squirts so the pump should be just fine. Fuses are fine, #12 controls the fluid. Just replaced the MFS for a new, which i was almost certain was the problem because my wiper speed was intermittent and the turn signals made the common buzzing noise every so often. Didn't work.
So i'd assume it's a relay problem. I'm a little uncertain which relay it is. I believe it's in the little box under my air intake because i've determined which relay controls the rear wiper fluid... knowing this relay is fine i've moved it around to see if i could get the front to squirt, but nothing.

I don't have a multimeter, but i guess i should buy one to confirm i'm getting voltage to the front when applying the switch on the MFS.
Oh and i know the lines aren't clogged or frozen up in any way.
I guess i could just switch the front and rear lines on the pump itself, but the lines are different size and i feel as though it wouldn't work to well.

I appreciate any help.

no help?

I bought a multimeter and have determined i'm getting about 12 volts when the switch is applied, so it must be fine. I can hear a click in the little relay box that's under the air filter when the switch is applied. Does anyone have the schematics for this box or can help me figure out which relay controls the pump for the front washer fluid.

Is it safe to assume the pump is fine since the rear works. I just don't feel like messing with the pump since the reservoir is full of fluid and is also connected to the coolant overflo, and i don't feel like removing it...

Well I figured it out, it actually was just a relay.
Too bad i spent 40 on a new mfs but at least i stopped that annoying buzzing sound and the wiper speed.

If anyone cares, it was in the relay box located underneath the air filter housing. There are two smaller relays in the rear of the box. Looking at it from the front of the vehicle, the one on the right controls the pump for the rear wash, one on the left controls the front wash.

easy fix

The front and rear wipers are completely seperate, the rear wiper has its own pump and everything in the back with its resivoir (Unless they changed it on 98+'s?)

I just got this 95, and have NOTHING when it comes to the squirters, the wipers dont even wipe when I press lol, Im hoping its just the MFS
