i have 94 splash with 4" supercrap lift. i recently started getting this bad pop when turning while backing up basically when at or near full lock while pulling out of parking spots. i've checked everything i know of radius arms, tierods, j clips on springs. even replaced the center section on superrunner steering but still does it. anyone have any ideas something loose or worn? i'm just stumped and it sounds really bad i saw some lady jump yesterday in the parking lot as it happened scared the crap outa her. well ok that park was funny but it worries me and they failed me at the nj BS special vehicle inspection for it :( IDIOTS!!! sorry i hate them even failed me for kicker shocks because they didn't know what they were

Its probably your big old 1-1/8 bolts that hold the radius arm on loosing up. You need to put major presure on those to keep that from happening to often.

I'd try the bolts holding the radius arms on to the TTB, just like ryan said.

Also, have you replaced the bushings on the radius arms?

did a closer inspection

i just replaced the bushings lastweek that was what i thought it was. but i had a friend turn the wheel for me and while it turns to almost lock the tire will actually just pop kinda like it was on a cam and came to a suddon drop. i'm wondering if it's the balljoints or maybe they didn't tighten the camber bushing all the way. well anyway it seems to be in the steering knuckle section. also does it in a panic stop. my friends bronco2 is doing it on the passenger side while mine is the drivers his is not as near as bad as mine but it's still noticable. i can't seem to remember having it before my alignment and his truck as done like 2 weeks before mine at the same place. in the past they've been the best and only place around we found to be able to align anything with bigger tires. we're thinking of ripping the driver side knuckle apart this weekend but i just dread the thought of doing that. not so much the ball joints and all i'm just sick of doing the bearings for yet another time. besides the popping for the truck is steering and ridding great. changing the center piece the supperrunner kit took all the remaining play out of the front it handles like a giant sports car.

it's your coil shifting in it's seat i am almost positve mine did the same thing

Check your sway bar end links, mine poped a lot until I retightened them.

i know it can't be the swaybar but thanks anyway

that's one thing i know it can't be the front bar is off till i make new endlinks. i currently have dual shocks and the front shock is in the swaybar mount. once i get my new pipe bender and time to weld i'm making a bottom setup similar to one james duff now uses i had their old kit with the stupid clamp on the axle thingy and i failed inspection for that too. GOD I HATE THIS STATE!. but having the rear shock on the stock mount and front on swaybar mount has made the truck handle much better. i still need longer shocks but for now my friend gave me 2 of his 6" lift ones till i decide on which new shocks i want. but thanks for the suggestion i did have a pop from the swaybar endlinks when the rubber bushings went but now i have all poly with greasable mounts. i'll post what we find this weekend when we rip it apart. i just with my new motor was in my jeep i'd rip it apart today but all these stupid little things on my ranger and friend bronco2 keep us from getting into our major jeep project

You didn't mention it, but you may have it anyway. I put a drop pitman arm on mine after driving for a while with the 4" lift and it seemed to handle better and tighter. Fortunately I have yet to have popping. Hope you find the problem.

whoa sorry about the truck.....just looking at your original post....change the vulgar laguage before a moderator sees it....they wont like whats after the sad face and will actually frown upon it!
