I have been looking for a while now, and I can't find the factory oil presure sender. I have a 99 OHV. Where is the damn thing. I'm trying to hookup an oil pressure gauge. I know where the coolant temp sender is, as well as where to connect the A/F ration meter and the tranny temp sender. But I can't find the oil pressure sender. I figured I'd just install a Y and then have the factory sender on one side, and the Autometer sender on the other. Or I would if I could find it. Please help me before I shoot something.

it was a while ago on my old 96.going by memory i think it was just under and behind where the lower radiator hose goes into the engine.

Thanks.

I'll check there first thing tomorrow. If not, I'm just gonna go ask Ford.

Not there!

Where is it? I still can't find the oil pressure sender. What does it look like? There is a picture in the Chilton's, but it's a close-up and all it says is to "find the oil pressure sender pictured below." Well thanks a lot. The picure they have could be from any part of the engine. Help.

I don't know if you have located the sender yet, but I do know the picture in the Chilton book is taken from underneith. The bar you see across the bottom of the picture is your front stabilizer bar. You can also see what looks to be your lower rad hose towards the top of the picture. I hope this narrows down your search location. I'm lucky, the ol' 94 pushrod one is easy to find.

I believe the oil pressure guage is located on the side of the aluminum pan (drivers) I believe it looks like an O2 sensor and it just threads into the pan. I am just guessing on this but I'm pretty sure that's it. The oil pump is always in the pan and that's where you will find the pressure switch for the oil pressure. I'm not sure if you have to drain to change the oil switch or not? You'll find out. rc

Well, just tonight I found it on my SOHC. Someone with the OHV told me where it was on theirs and mine was in the same place. Its really tough to see. The easiest way to get to it (actually, you cant really get to it, you can see it but not get to it) is to take off the drivers side front wheel, then take off the mud cover thing that has those 5 pop things holding it in. You will see the back of the A/C compressor. Find the hose coming out of that in the very back of it and follow it down a few inches. There will be a round thing right behind that screwed into the block just below the exhaust manifold. It is about one inch in dia. and it has one wire coming out of it. You can just pop that wire off like a spark plug wire. Sockets do not fit on it. I used the my small set of Robo-grips. PITA!!!!! Good luck getting a T fitting on there and good luck trying to fit another sending unit in there. I am going to attempt this tomorrow night. The sending unit I have to add is quite large too. :(

Ahhh... just noticed the date on this thread... you probably already found it. If you did this how did you get the T fittings in there?
