Fuel Economy 220 miles on tank??

I think it has to do with two things - I drive @ 63 in a 65 MPH zone with the CC on. Anything above 2000 RPM causes a big drop in MPG. I also have used the ethonal blended gas which makes it worse. I have gotten 23-28 MPG when going 63 MPH with the V6 engine.

I think all this mileage info is useless unless you state what axle gearing you have and tire size. Some one will not get the same mileage with 4.10 as someone with 3.08.

Ratio

I bought a used 2006 with the 4.6 v8. where or how do i tell that ratio i have (4.10 or 3.08)?

If I drive normal I get about 17-18. When I drive how I drive which is 70-80 highway and I usally do race off the line. I get about 13-14. But I'm 80% highway.

I feel your gas guzzling pain

I have an '06 Eddie Bauer and I have recently experienced the same exact issue. I had the tranny reprogramed in December with TSB 07-23-2 and since then my mileage has dropped down to about 240 miles per tank. For the first 17k miles we would not see less than 300 miles per tank. The tranny still just does not shift right, at times it feels like there is no power so you hit the gas a little harder and it about throws you in the back seat, I am sure this does not help mileage out. I skipped all the other tranny updates in hopes the latest one would take care of it, maybe thats my problem. I have heard a rumor that there is a new TSB out on the tranny, Can't wait to go back to the dealer for yet another one, but at $3 a gallon, I can't afford to drive it to much longer

The temp here has been in the -10 to +10 degree range. I am running with A/C on to clear the windows and often in 4x4 mode due to snowy roads. My last tank I used just under 17 gals to go 306 miles. That is 18 MPG. And I'm hardly the slowest driver on the road. No complaints here.

2006 few mods, ie hella 6inch driving lights, 4inch piaa fog lights,
Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor:thumbsup::thumbsup::D
City-17.3-18mpg
Highway 19-25mpg
Average 17.3
I took a recent trip up to mammoth lakes in NoCal thats the only time my Ex has got the 25 listed here, on that trip i got over 500 miles to a tank, (just as a side not i have a 22 gallon tank, when i stopped for gas in mammoth lakes i filled up i had a little over a gallon and a half left in my tank:eek: I was running 91)

Hey can anybody top that 25mpg highway;)

:thumbsup::thumbsup:Yea dude that deserves a three thumbs up
nice mileage, man you did a lot to your engine, intake, and exhaust, that must have cost you$$$$$$$$ I am still under warranty so i don't want to touch anything that might affect it:D

Hey is the 32 you got all highway or combined??:biggthump:bounce:

All my "over 30" MPGs have been strictly highway mileage.

NICE:D

Like i said before i have a warranty and it goes to 75,000 i got the extended one and i dont want to ruin it by changing my engine, so that stuff will have to wait at least four or five years:thumbdwn::(
Oh well i still LOVE MY EX!!!!!:D:D:D

Alright basically i will give you the scoop on how i get my stock 06 to get an overall average of about 22gallons per tank DRIVE SLOWER DUDE, for every five miles per hour you go over 55 you use up to 15% more fuel.

Another thing telling us that your 18 doesn't mean that you have to drive like you are, drive smooth and steady. It isn't a race, dude its okay if the old lady who can bairly see over the steering wheel, or the soccer mom, or the dad in his BMW passes you, i promise no one is going to laugh at you if you make it to the stoplight last, or if you accelerate slow.

LIFE IS NOT A RACE JUST SLOW DOWN AND DRIVE SMOOTH :D

I know this will be a hard one for you and i don't mean it to sound sarcastic.

Leave an extra five minutes to drive to where you need to go and then you won't feel like your in a rush, its the rushing and impatience that will cost you in fuel mileage:bounce::bounce:

thanks ill work on that alot of the time i have to be in a rush because i am volunteer firefighter so when i am home and there is a call i cant drive like a granny especially on things like car accidents and cardiac arrests but i willl try and slow down more on the rest of my driving

Dude when it comes to peoples lives the price of gas isn't important
I am glad to hear that you will start making an effort the rest of the time though, making a change like slowing down when you dont need to be in a rush will save you so much $$$ and that puts a BIG:D on my face

just dont forget:nono:No more un necessary high speed driving, jump starts, or hard acceleration, it makes a difference, try it and you smile too:D::p::)
