First Of all I want to Thank everybody for the great info that they post on this forum. I'm very thankful for this site.

I'm going to be replacing my fuel filler neck that I damaged a while back while prying it off while I was on a trip. I had a locked gas cap and lost the key. The plastic around the top of the neck cracked. My check engine light has been on for a while now and I've had enough of it. So I went out to the junk yard last week and got one. The question is when I take the hoses off from the bottom of the neck of my old one on my vehicle is it going to be under pressure. It has to hoses I guess one is the return and the other hose is to the tank, And should I run the tank down before replacing. I have just under a quarter of a tank right now.

Thanks in advance,

Russell

no. the pressured part of the fuel system is between the pump and the injectors. I would just suggest making sure the tank is as low as possible in case you have to drop it down a little.

Ok thanks for the fast response. Ok so you think I might have to drop down the fuel tank a little to replace. When I was taking the one off at the junk yard I just had to loosening the 2 clamps on the hoses and they pulled right off the filler neck. Its was pretty easy to access with the wheel off.
