Hey guys, so I changed the the fuel filter in my '98 Explorer (much needed) and then ran a fuel system cleaner (gumout high mileage). My thinking was I didn't want the cleaner to dislodge all the junk in the old filter and reintroduce it. However, now I'm wondering if the cleaner has done its job and cleaned a bunch junk out of the fuel system, is my new filter now loaded with all this stuff and back in a similar state as the old filter? Should have I done the cleaner first, then changed the filter?
I'm newer to doing my own maintenance and still learning a ton about this, so sorry if it's a stupid question that I'm just not getting. Thanks!
