I have a 1997 XLT SOHC V6 that, just recently, has started exhibiting a fuel gauge issue where it seems to be stuck between 3/4 full and full. Just this morning I filled the tank, drove from southern NJ to Newark, DE and back (over 200 miles total today) and the gauge is just below 3/4; sometimes fluctuates above that.
There's no way in hell that my truck is getting that kind of gas mileage all of a sudden.
Last year I had the fuel pump replaced because it failed; not sure if that could have anything to do with it.
I added two bottles of Techron to the tank on my way home from DE hoping that it might free something up if the float was stuck of something; no such luck.
Any ideas?

did you replace the pump or the whole assembly? the fuel gauge is part of the assembly.

I think just the pump was replaced
