I've hear people say to use it, others say it will kill your motor.

Whats everyones opinion?

I don't know but Im looking forward to hearing what people think, I bought a bottle of STP injector cleaner but didnt dump it in yet!! My truck has 104k on it, I thought it would be a good idea at this point.

I use it once or twice a year and it helps a little:D

I may start

My ford mechanic (Dealer) told me i should every 50k or so. Gets rid of the build of carbon. And with a ohv we all know what happens with too much carbon. Marbles in the pan!!!! I had ford run cleaner through the motor 2 or 3 times and still there so i have to take it back so they can run it again (only 1000 miles tops!) Then i may try 92 oct.

I use it 4-5 times a year, sometimes more if it's a high mileage year. Use a good brand and it should help. Keep in mind your mileage for that tank and the one after may go down a bit.

To keep injectors clean and avoid expensive service I use it every other month.

I use it once or twice a year. A few times when my truck was pinging I used it and filled up with premium gas and after that it was back to running fine on regular.

Actually, if you can cough up the cash the best way is to get it done professionally at a good shop(if any left) around here it is about 70 bucks but does an excellent job. they shut down the fuel pump and run an aerosal through the fuel line for approx. 10min. It works! This should be done around the 30,000 mark.

Glad to hear

I'm suprised that we don't have anyone disagree. I've had a couple people tell me that fuel injection cleaner eat are gaskets or seals in the injectors (I think) and does help, but leads to more problems.

I've only used it once and that was when I found out about it. I think it really helped 'cause the engine felt a bit stronger but I can't really judge that unless a dyno is done. But I don't think there are any problems using it. I used the Chevron stuff.

fuel injector cleaner

Twice a year with Chevron Techron. Same stuff they put in their gas. I have read from several sources that this is simply the best product out there. Chevron apparently invented the active chemical cleaner and patented it. Worked wonders on my mom's old Buick!
