fuel injection, ignition or transmission problem

My 97 XLT 4x4 4.0L SOHC starts, idles and runs flawlessly but stalls when I put it in reverse. Doesn't happen immediately or all the time but tends to happen more when the car is warm/hot. Replaced the air and fuel filters, no difference. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanx.

Does it start right up after stalling? If so, my guess would be tranny problem. Modulator? possibly?
