I have a 2000 Ex EB with 120k+ miles. I'm going to assume that almost everything on it is original because I got it when it was already 4 yrs old. I KNOW the injectors need cleaning and there are some shops in my area (ASE certified) that are doing internal injection cleaning (hooking the fuel line up to a machine and running a cleaner through the injectors). My question is will this be "good" enough, or should I call around and find someone that does external cleaning (taking the injectors out and thoroughly cleaning them).

I'm also curious as to any "hidden" tips you guys might have. Like I said it has a little over 120K miles and I usually only fix things that are broken. I've been looking through the forums and have seen stupid/easy fixes like change the pcv valve, run seafoam through the engine, etc. Which is why I call these "hidden" tips, because they're not things you usually hear about (change your plugs/wires/filters etc) What I'm looking for is as many of these "hidden" tips as you guys can give who have explorers with high miles on it. Just really anything you can think of that would be beneficial. Thanks for all the help

My brother is the service manager for a chevy dealer and that is also how they clean injectors. He says they also bump up the pressure to help clean them. I've taken my injectors apart and cleaned them and after doing so I think hooking them up to the machine would do just as good of a job unless there are particals in the screens which is highly unlikely.
