fuel leak: how to disconnect fuel line?

i've got a '97 explorer w/ 4.0 SOHC. i need to disconnect the fuel line(s) on the driver's side of the block (kinda) close to the exhaust manifold. the braided steel tubing has ruptured. anyone done this or that know how? never dealt with this type of ford fuel fitting.

There a special tool used to disonnect those lines. It's cheap though. Any auto parts place should have it.
