Hi all,

I had the fuel pressure checked on my explorer checked the other day. The results are:

At idle it reads 60 psi and at 4500 rpm it reads 22 psi.

Is this normal? What is the operating pressure range of a 99 explorer 4.0?

Thannks for any info

The fuel rail pressure should be 60 - 65 psi but I do not think that I have ever seen a full throttle pressure specification. Twenty-two seems a little low.

I agree with TestPoint, it seems a little low.
I don't think it's the pump's fault, but probably
a split hose upstream from the pump that's
releasing fuel (and pressure) back into the tank.

It might also be a partially clogged fuel filter...
