Trying to find the problem with my explorer. Just this morning it started to cut out when I would go over bumps. I'm pretty sure I need a new fuel filter and I do know I need a new TPS so I bought those while at lunch. On my way back from lunch, I went over a series of bumps and it cut out again, and almost died this time. I hit the gas and it kept going. When I pulled up at work, I was listening to it to see if it would give me any hints and I heard nothing strange. I revved it up a bit and now it's hesitating in the lower RPMs, like, under 1500. I peeked my head under the hood and there is a crack in one of the plug wires but I'm not seeing it arc across while running and the crack is at the end of the boot so it might be "ok". I'll get new plug wires tonight.
My question is, what do you think the problem might be that's causing it to cut out when I'm going over bumps? Could a clogged fuel filter cause this or would that just slowly starve it out where bumps would have nothing to do with it?
