...Have you replaced the fuel pump relay?

If you have put 5 pumps in over 2 years time I'd put my money on it being an issue with the fuel pump relay. When you did these pump replacements, did you flush out your fuel tank? This has come to be a must-do on my list when I change pumps.

i have changed the relay and even put a new tank fuel filters every time i changed pump i am trying to figure this problem out before i have to buy a new vehicle

welcome

Fuel filter replacement?

Did you also replace the external fuel filter? I suspect that many early fuel pump failures are due to clogged fuel filters.

Is CHECK ENGINE illuminated when the ignition switch is On and the fuel pump doesn't run? The PCM relay energizes the fuel pump.

When the ignition key is turned to On does the fuel pump run for a few seconds and then stop running when the key is turned to Start? If so, you could have a faulty CMP sensor?

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Your fuel pressure regulator could be faulty.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the stock 91-94 section. The fuel pump can't turn on unless the PCM turns on first. You should see a check engine light turn on when you hear the fuel pump prime.

How have you determined the pumps are bad. As mentioned before, the PCM relay could be bad. Check resistance from relay to the pump. Could be the impact sensor is open or bad connection. Try running a wire from battery to pump side of relay. The normal 5 seconds the pump runs is not enough time to diagnose the problem. You need to jumper out the relay.

There is one odd problem that can happen with the fuel pressure regulator. Some have a non centered spring and the seat wears just on one side. This causes the valve to stick open and the pressure is too low to run the engine. Measure fuel pump current at the fuse. Under 3A is not enough current to run the engine. This happened on my 92,

i have just assumed they was bad since they would not come on i am not real familiar with the pcm valve where is it located i am going to run a hot wire from the battery to the pump side of the cut off fuel shut off switch and test the pump there if it pumps then i will know it is some thing electrical and will work on it from that side
