I thought I had this problem fixed until this morning.Turn the key on and lo and behold the fuel pump goes past prime mode and continues to run.I turn ignition on and off a few times, fuel pump primes like it is supposed to and then starts to run like crap and cel comes on and then all of a sudden it goes off and runs fine.As I let it idle it all of a sudden revs up with the throttle not being actuated.I then pulled relay and it settles down.It kept on repeating this scenario.I have swapped relays out a couple of times now with no positive results.I have pulled codes and I get a 123 and 125 both related to TPS.The second time I pulled codes with the comp. going through it's process the pump would not shut off allowing the test to continue.I am at wits end now, where do I go from here?

There are two possible issues here. One is that the fuel pump is being ground out in which case you need to find the fuel pump wires the run inside the driver's side frame and look for a short or some corrosion on the wires or connectors. Second it could be that the TPS is telling the computer the wrong information which is keeping the fuel pump on like it is at half throttle. Or it could be a combination of both. I would check the TPS first. It is only a $30 replacement part and it is the more likely culprit.

Here is some more info.I just went out to dbl.check the codes and when I tried to read the fuel pump would not shut off to continue test. Finally after sitting awhile I tried again and the pump reacted correctly but standing talking to neighbor withe key on the pump started on it's own at that time with pump running I pulled off return line on regulor and gas was coming through.I then put my finger over return port and was able to shut pump off.Do you still think TPS would do that.Heeeeelp!
