I just registered today, seen a lot of useful info. I have a problem and I know somebody knows what it is. After I shut off the engine I have a whistle/ buzz sound from the back, I think it is the fuel pump. I can disconnect battery and it stops, or it will stop on it own after a while. Help!

When I bought my '92 XLT a couple of years ago I had the exact same problem. It was the fuel pump running continuously, even with the key off. A bad fuel pump relay was the culprit. I guess the contacts were sticking or something. Anyway, I replaced it with a new one from the dealer for about $12-$14 and haven't had a problem since. (the part stores only had universal fit ones that didn't seem to match.) I'm pretty sure that's what it is. It will stop if you disconnect the battery.

Thanks! mprocek, I'll see my local ford dealer and get a relay.

I noticed you are from Virginia. Where exactly in VA?

I'm from Waynesboro and I know you,re the moonshine capital. The races at Franklin County Speedway get pretty wild.
