Full Synthetic

I am looking to go fully synthetic with all possible fluids in my 1999 X. I am already and have always used the mobil 1 engine oil. Any one done this as far as tranny, case and diffs? please let me know any info such as what brands, how much are the levels, your feeelings and final results with the changes.

I have used Mobil 1 ATF in my tranny, though now I use Amsoil, Never a worry with Mobil 1. Also have used it in the rear.

I now use Amsoil everywhere.

I am using Mobil 1 in my transmission (manual) and differential. My Limited has it in the rear differential (haven't got to the front yet) and transfer case. I have noticed any differences, but gives you confidence. A lot better than NOT changing these fluids. I believe the Ford manual these days says the differential is "lubed for life". Yeah, I don't buy that stuff :thumbdwn:

The Mercon V specificiation is for semi synthetic.

I run Mobil1 in the crankcase. I haven't converted anything else yet. Although I'd like to do the transfer case one of these days. But that will probably be a while.

I use Royal Purple in everything. It has Dyno proven results.

I have Mobil1 in my rear diff (haven't gotten to the front one yet), transfer case, engine, as well as sythetic grease in all my greasable fittings. I use synthetics throughout my snowmobile becasue they won't turn to a thick goo at -20 F like dino oil will.

I switched to synthetics in everything about a year ago. Amsoil.

My transfer case doesn't hum, it feels like it runs smoother and it sure helps for the winter. I believe I gained a little mileage also.

FWIW I switched to Amsoil for a manual transaxle car and noticed an immediate end to hard cold shifting. That was in comparison to changing the lube from one conventional to another and noting no difference.
