KUMHO voluntarily recalls 78,000 Venture HT and AT light truck tires

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA ….KUMHO TIRE U.S.A., Inc. is voluntarily recalling 78,000 Venture HT and AT light truck tires in the U.S. and Canada due to a noticeable blister on the sidewall that may exist in certain KUMHO load range E tires.
The blister may produce a noticeable tire vibration, which a driver might detect. The condition may eventually result in tire air pressure loss, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. To date, there have been no reported tire failures, accidents or injuries.
All recalled tires will be replaced at no cost to consumers, including mounting and balancing, through KUMHO tire dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
This recall involves the following tires only and has no impact on any other KUMHO tires:

The recalled tires have Department of Transportation tire identification numbers that begin with “DOT 4T ” and end with four numerical digits that represent the week and year a tire was manufactured. Please reference the chart listed above in order to identify the Manufactured Date range for each specific tire.
Consumers who have difficulty identifying the DOT code can call KUMHO’s Consumer Relations Department at (800) 445-8646 Ext. 342, 348, or 338, or can go to any authorized KUMHO tire dealer. Consumers can find the nearest KUMHO dealer by using the dealer locator on the KUMHO TIRE U.S.A. Web site (http://www.kumhotireusa.com/DealerLocator/) or by calling (800) 445-8646 Ext. 342, 348, or 338.

KUMHO informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Transport Canada of its recall campaign and is notifying consumers, dealers and wholesalers potentially affected by the recall.
KUMHO is using consumers’ product registration information to notify consumers who have affected tires. However, consumers in the U.S. or Canada who think they may have an affected tire should not wait to receive a recall notification. They should immediately call KUMHO’s Consumer Relations Department at (800) 445-8646 Ext. 342, 348, or 338 or return to the dealer where they purchased the tires for a free inspection and replacement, if necessary.
