I had to get on the freeway and away from the traffic, so I put the pedal to the metal. Apparently that pressure of the coolant moving popped off that little rubber cap on the backside of the Dorman intake manifold. That spring clamp did not hold, coolant went everywhere. I'd recommend getting rid of it and putting on a worm drive type clamp. And it was annoying to be on the road and have no tools to remove the engine cover -- solving that problem is a good idea.

Noted. I can see that happening. Usually carry tools, including hose clamps (& short 1/2 in copper pipe for possible coolant hose break) when I do long trips.

Just had an issue with this myself that I posted about within the last month. Replacement of the cap and use of a "real" hose clamp instead of that stupid pinch clamp was my solution. I agree that it is an issue but I also got probably something close to 75K miles or more before I had a problem with it.
