i tried ordering a chip through them and they never shipped it for 4 weeks and kept promising me that it was shipped. Horrible customer service. I canceled the order and never went through with it.

thats good to know. did you end up ordering a different chip?

nope ended up doing some other mods such as exhaust intake and synthetic fluids and will be ordering a tune through henson probably after xmas to get the most out of my mods. he is a member on here if you search around you will see some really good reviews on this...

Sorry guys. This is snake oil. Your best bet is Superchips Custom Tuning. Search the forums for custom tuning, or run one of the "canned tunes". In either case, give them a call.

why is it "snake oil"? Just your opinion, or do you speak from experience?

Contact James Henson, he is a vendor on here. He deals SCT tuners. They are your best bet. Anything that says 60hp and 7mpg is no good, don't waste your money. SCT tuner is close to 400, but you will get real gains. An SCT tuner should net you 10hp, maybe more maybe less depending on any other mods. It also alters transmission shifts and functions as an OBD-II code reader.

Ever heard of "too good to be true"? There is no way possible, that you can add 60 HP without doing a lot of major modifications to your car. Additionally, they cannot offer a "one size fits all" product that works miracles on every car. Don't take my word for it. Do a little more research. My opinion is bias by way of personal life experience. You may have a different perception. Google the item to see what other car owners have written about it on other auto forums. Keep in mind that their opinions are bias also. Look for real world facts. Find independent testing (not by the manufacturer) results. See if you can get dyno sheets. As with anything else in life, don't listen to what other people are saying. Do your own homework. Find your own path. Let the facts (if any exist) guide you.

Sorry guys. This is snake oil.

Yes, Snake Oil, pure and simple. This is nothing more then the Intake Air Temp. mod. It can be done with a 10 cent resistor from Radio Shack. I would not recommend doing it. Your vehicle will run rich all the time because it no longer knows what the intake air temp is. The only advantage in running it rich is it will perform better off the line when the engine is cold. But the ECU does a pretty good job of taking care of that for you. There are plenty of threads about this old scam. Try a search for performance chips.

Those "chips" do nothing but lighten your wallet.

Get real tuning done. You get what you pay for.

thanks for the tips. I definitely wont be buying that chip. The plan now is to save up and get a proper tune done.

One of my first trips to this forum occurred when I was researching those bogus eBay chips. I ended up getting the "real thing" and glad I did. You will too.
