Someone will probably come in here later and say "wrong dummy" but until then, I'll take a crack at it. The light is probabaly one of those that has to be reset with one of those OBD II devices, you can get that done at most garages. Otherwise, you have to wait for 50 starts or so for the light to go out.

I don't have the book for my 07 eb with me right now, but the gas cap was loose on my truck and I got the light. I remember I put it on properly and the light didn't go out and I thought "oh no..here we go." I got the book out and I can't remember exactly how many (not 50) but it was a certain number of starts until it was going to go off. Not just starts but cold starts like the engine had to be off for 15 minutes or more between each start and it took 3 starts or something like that. I remembering thinking I was going to cheat and start, stop, start, stop, etc, but then I read the part about cold starts.

I would check your book again and see if you missed the part about how long until the light goes out.

Its funny, the day after I replied to this post, the same thing happened to me. I was on my way to work and started the car and my gas cap light came on. I got out and took a look to see the gas cap almost screwed completely off. I put it back on, drove to work, got paranoid because I was thinking maybe someone dumped sugar in my tank or something so I filled up the tank (it was 25% full before). Light came back on when I was going home but the next morning it was out. All I did was fill the tank.

My light also has come on 3 times. :mad:Ford reset it, but it always came back on after a short time. They finally replaced the EVAP Solenoid Part #SPO 6L2Z 9F945 AA. Have not seen that light-on for 5 months now. Keeping my fingers crossed.:cool:Total warrenty cost was $153.72:thumbsup: If it's broke, fix it under warrenty:D
