Hey guys first off thanks in advance. I just replaced my gas pump assembly with an Airtex. After I replaced it the gas gage is either full or 3/4 full. I know that I have less than 1/4 tank of gas. What are the reasons that ir is stuck on full 3/4 full. What are my options here .

Well, the little arm with the float on it attached to the fuel pump assembly is what tells the truck how full the tank is, I'd start there. You probably bent it or something when you installed the airtex pump.

Could try swerving side to side with 3/4 tank of fuel to try and jostle it free.
(Did you replace just the pump or the whole assembly?)

The arm like said may have come bent, or bent on install. Honestly Airtex pumps are pretty poor, people sometimes replace them multiple times a year before going to something like Bosch (which is what I used). If your going to take it out to check/fix the arm, I would look into getting a better replacement anyway like Bosch.

As mentioned, it could be you bent the float arm, or if you replaced the complete F/P assembly it could be a defective sender in the assembly. If I were you and was planning on removing the assembly to diagnosis/fix the issue I'd remove the Airtex pump, return it to get your money back and buy a Bosch fuel pump. With a Airtex pump you'll be replacing it soon anyway.

BTW, I'm not sure you could install the assembly clocked incorrectly, but I've noticed there is a small arrowhead shaped indicator stamped into the assembly and the top of the fuel tank to help you to align it properly. If it can be installed incorrectly maybe the float is hitting the side of the tank...?
