hey guys, i have a question! i have a `94 ex, and my gasmilage has drastically decreased in the last couple months. i checked my oil tonight, and it read VERY high!..but it smelled a bit like gasoline and appeared a little thin for warm 5w30. it also has a surging feeling at higher rpm's and it has a sever loss of power after drivin on the intersate for 96 miles or more, i read the thread about this a few minutes ago, so i am going to check on the things suggested about that.

take out your dipstick and try to light it on fire, seriously do this. cause if there is gas in the oil, then you have a SERIOUS problem, cause it will wear out the bearings in the engine.

You may want to replace the FPR.

It's often hard to diagnose but can cause many fuel-system related problems including making the engine run very rich.

i tried this once, and it didn't do ne thing, i will go try it again. it smelled like gas, and it read soo high, and when i changed the oil last, i only added what the owners manual said to add...and the last time i checked it, i don't remember it readin high.:S
thanx man!

what is the fpr?
thanx

i really really know that you dont want to hear this- but ill tell you. if there is enough fuel in the oil to raise its level a noticable amount, chances are the rings are washed. even if you fix the fuel problem, it will probably smoke and use oil very soon.

please, dont shoot the messenger.:(

It's located on the passenger side of the fuel rail towards the front. Very easy to take off. It can sometimes work, and sometimes not. But by the sound of it, you do need a new one.

You can find it here.
