Welcome to the site.

Where exactly is the leak in your tank, or are you assuming it is the tank?

They do make gas tank repair kits for plastic tanks. I haven't used it though so I don't know how well it works. I keep a repair kit in my spare parts bad just in case. You can find it at most autoparts stores. I think it's made by Permatex.

JB Weld should work if you make sure the surface is clean.

I'm betting the leak is from a rusted fuel pump sending line and not the tank itself...

Well now you say that it would make sense, would I have to replace the pump only or what would I do to go about fixing it? I have had this truck for 11 years and to be honest I have not really worked on it much.

If you do need a tank, JCwhitney has them, & I'm sure you can find someone on the net that makes them. Or a junk yard.
I'd say it's the fuel pump gasket or the filler hoses, or lines. It's rare for a plastic tank to leak.

De you were correct!!!!! the lines just about fell off when I dropped the tank.
The lines that are on there, how do they come off??? They look like they are crimped on or are they like a compression fitting or what??

I kinda new the answer as I have seen it several times before (that and how often do plastic fuel tanks rust?)...
The fuel lines are held together by garter springs which requires a special fuel line disconnect tool. Check out the Disconnecting Fuel lines thread for some great info and pics on how to use the tool... BTW you will need to replace the fuel pump and sending unit assembly...

Well I didn't think it rusted but maybe cracked, any how thanks alot for the info, I already have the unit and the tool on hold at the local auto partsd store to pick up after work.
I will hit that thread to see how to use the tool also.
thanx again.
