After getting a $5400 estimate from the dealer for replacing a water pump I decided to do it myself. I have opened an engine once before to replace a bad piston so I am not a complete novice, plus I have all the tools I need. My concern is the outside temperature since I have to work in my driveway (its around freezing lately). I remember the last time waiting for warmer weather to close up the engine because the RTV gasket maker I used works best in warmer temperatures so I waited months to close that engine up. This time, all the YouTube videos recommend using "Permatex Ultra Black Gasket Maker Oil Resistant" and I don't see any temperature restrictions on the label. Does anyone know if I can close this thing back up with temps in the 30's or should I wait for warmer weather?
Thanks in advance!
