gater for stearing rack

Hi all, question my ex failed on a stearing rack gater, phoned ford and various car factors but none stock them. will a universal gater work or is there any of fords that are compatable?

Hmm, is the gator torn---I had one torn once, came back cleaned the tear with wd 40 and super glued the bugger together- packed with grease and it held fine!

It really has to be very clean or the glue wont hold!

There is an earlier post regarding using a universal steering rack gaitor - these can be bought in pairs on eBay, I think for about 6 quid. I got a new one of these for 10p at a car boot sale, but have not fitted it yet. Whoever wrote the post, said how easy it was to fit, and what a nice job it made. Just undo one clamp bolt, slide the coupling, and put it on, making sure it is well packed with grease.

hi if we are talking rack gators they have a small outlet that connects to a pipe.so universal one wouldn't do the job . but would be fine for steering column.
