Gauge cluster swap?

Actually you should give him a cookie for doing the swap because I'm the one who pulled my cluster apart so he could look at my wiring and figure it out WHICH HE DID, so you should give me a cookie too. How is it not done right? The Temp gauage especially is just a dummy gauge, not accurate at all. It's basically there to give you an idea. You want accurate then get some individual AutoMeter gauges and make your own cluster. No need for the attitude.

Its hacked. End of story. I know all about how the gauges work and not being accurate. What it will do is show you when/if it ever overheats. Now it wont do that, have fun buying an engine when it does overheat.

And the reason for the attitude is because I have to work on these hacked pieces of **** when they come in the shop.

Well I'm sorry you hate your job, no need to take it out on people here who are here to help you. If you don't want to listen to what people have to say and have to have an attitude about it then don't post questions regarding your problem. You seem to work on these "pieces of ****" so figure it out yourself. If you want to call what he did is hacked then call it that, but it works (meaning it'll tell him if it's getting hot). Because of the different years in clusters the wiring is different so he looked at my wiring to figure it out. Guess what, now it works. If that's hacked then I guess all the mods I have done are "hacked" also. I think when I put in my 4406 TF that'll be "hacked" also because it's going to require some hammering to get it to fit, but guess what? It's going to work and it's going to be awsome. Exactly what you said, END OF STORY

I beg to differ, on my new cluster, it goes up when I accelerate hard, and then goes down when I am idling/constant revs. It is very accurate, and moves fast. The only problem is it is a little to high from the seemingly missing resistor.

I dont hate my job, not at all. I do hate people (yes, referring to you and your friend) who hack mods and think they know everything. Your not worth the time it would take to sit here and type anymore, so Ill leave it at that. I dont want to know about how you removed a bulb and moved the needle when the gauge is pegged out to make it work "correctly" as you think it does.

I never said it worked perfectly your "ROYAL HIGHNESS" .
If your the ACE mechanic then figure it out and let us all know about your GREATNESS!

This "HACK" was done on my rig by me for me. I have not had A working temp gauge for over 2 years IF I WANTED TO DRAW A TEMP NEEDLE ON WITH A SHARPIE I WILL CAUSE I DON'T NEED AN IDIOT GAUGE TO TELL ME MY RIG IS OVERHEATING!!!

Not alot of us are "PROS" or "MASTER MECHANICS" like you buddy. We all just like the same damn vehicle. We are shade tree mechanics and driveway tinkerers that cut things , paint things and yes HACK things to make things work. If your looking for EXPERTS ONLY then your in the wrong forum.

To end this all I wanna say is there is NO need for the attitude. I dropped my 2 cents on my first post and you could take it or leave , either way i don't care but treating people like we are all beneath YOU doesn't do too well for me or alot of guys around here.

Good Luck Buddy :)
