Gauge Lights

All of my lights on my gauges work when I don't turn my headlights on. When my headlights are on, my cruise control light, 4x4 (when in it), O/D off (when out of it.) Also my check engine is out (which is nice except I know it is pulling codes? Any ideas on how to get these to work?
I have checked the forum to no avail.
