Gave up the Ghost - Battery Died

I can't believe that I got 10 years on the original battery in my EE.
I mean people tell me the 3 to 4 years tops on an OEM battery.
Well, I got a jump to get it started and headed to SEARS.

I put in their 8 year 850 CCA 130 Reserve SUV battery and was on my way.
I went to have the EE inspected. They inspected it but, would not give me a STICKER.

They asked me if I had just replaced the battery, I said, "Yes"
They told me that their Computer could not get a reading from my EE Computer.

The computer had been wiped clean.
So, they gave me this pamphlet on how to RESET the computer.

Then if I come back within 10 - 15 days they will give me a STICKER.

What you did when you disconnected the battery is "reboot" the PCM OBDII monitors. It now has to go through an entire drive cycle to see if anything is wrong. Now, you can do that in one little trip, or (as was my case) it can take damn near a month. You have to hit all the required parameters for the tests to clear. You can try and force the tests using their pamphlet, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work. Just drive it normally for a month without disconnecting the battery and go back in. The P1000 code should be gone.
