Gear question

I am getting my 3" body lift this week and my BFG 31's next week. Will I need to change my gears, or will stock gears be acceptabale?

with going to 31s stock gears should be acceptable... however, it depends on what your stock gearing is as to how much difference it will make....

what is your stock gear ratio? you can find the axle code on the drivers door jamb under axle code listing....

Same question. I have 3.27's axle code 41

31's are not that much bigger then stock. I would assume that the stock gearing would be fine. If you go any larger you may want to consider changing them.

pretty sure gears are 3.73.

I have 31" MT's with 3.27's + a manual tranny (which according to the specs makes a difference in the lower gears). I can still pretty easily chip the tires/breake the loose with alittle work. The only place I notice a diffence is in 5th...it doesn't have quite as much umph, so passing tends to require down shifting more than it use to. Offroad I don't have much of a problem...but i'm usually in 1st gear. So far i've only had to use low range when climbing steep hills. Anyway that's my experience...you'll probably be ok
