How do I find out what gear ratio I have? I have a xls 4.0., does this have a limited slip? Any help or direction would be helpful.

Another question.
I found a sensor wired in front of the radiator on the left side just behind the grill. Its suspened away from everything. I have no clue what it is for. I thought is was for temp sensor for message center. I don't know if the xls model is wired already and can use xlt message center and then have xlt features.

Thanks
V

Here's all the specifications you may be looking for. http://www.internetautoguide.com/car-specifications/09-int/2002/ford/explorer/ As for the sensor, are you sure it's a sensor? Check and see if the front end of it flips open and you see the end of a plug. If so, that would be a block heater.

Thanks Cdaddy78

The object is suspended away from radiator on the left side just behind grill. So when looking down between grill and radiatior you see it with 2 wires in it. Its thicker than a sharpie (black) and the end seems open or hollow at end facing right. Can't get and angle to look into it.

Thanks again I appreciate you responding

I am interested in installing the autoclimate control and message center from an xlt and was hoping the XLS model is actually prewired. I would think it would be much harder to have different wire setups for the xls and xlt. I figure if its and xls they just dont install message center eatc and maybe computer. If not I would not mind doing the work to make it happen.

Im fairly positive it is wired. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Not sure about your sensor thing.

well if its wired already, that would be great. Its then where i have to buy these xlt message center, new radio bezel, auto climate control. And hope it worksss...LOL

Yeah it looks like some kind of sensor. it has 2 wires...maybe its for temperature. I think I read someplace here some guy was trying to get his truck to show outside temp and vaguely remember him mention temp sensore in front of radiator.

Thanks again
