a buddy fo mine has offered to do a gear swap for me if i supply the parts.

my questions are who's brand of gears do you reccommend?
and
what ratio do you think i should step up to. currently i am on 3.73 LS form ford, i am turning 33's and do a miux of around town and highway. i was thinking about 410's or 4.56's
if anyne has any reallife experience with either of these i'd like to see some results.
thanks

probably would be better if you went with 4.56s, especially if you ever plan on going to anything bigger than 33s or you do rockcrawling......

I have 4.10 with my 35's, and they are fine. But I think I would like it more if I had the 4.56 gears.

I swapped in 4.10's when I went to 33" tires and they are working fine. Speedometer and tranny shifts are right on with this setup whereas 4.56 would be a bit stronger pulling but mileage would suffer. Just depends on if you need the extra grunt with a little less mileage.

I regret my decision to go with 4.10s

I whine about not going to 4.56s every chance I get. I wrote off worrying about gas mileage the day I decided to lift my Ex 6" and go up 4 tire sizes. By the time I finished adding custom bumpers, winch, etc., along with loading up my truck to go camping (not to mention I pull a small fiberglass off-road trailer) I need all the extra rpms I can get. 70-75 SHOULD be anyone's top speed running 33's, and your rpms will be just fine in that range. SInce you're probably never done tweaking a truck, you might as well get a bit more than you need rather than staying par just in case something changes in the future. Besides, hasn't getting a little more been the theme of your truck buildup anyway?

F-150?

Oops I assumed Explorer there, I guess if your f-150 is one of the V8s (4.6 or 5.4) you prolly have a little leeway there.
