gearbox filter............

.........and sump gasket, are they fraud only? at £20 each plus oil its starts to get a bit expensive.
anyone got any help on obtaining the above a bit cheaper?

i tell you what, it gets a bit quite in here when blueka isnt around, doesnt it?
had a text conversation with him last night and he says new job is really good and he is currently offline.

Gearbox sump gasket

I got mine from RockAuto and I 'd guess they'd do the filter too. Quick delivery- in days and with a strong £ against the $ not expensive

The gasket was

FEL-PRO TOS18679 Oil Pan Gasket $ 4.04

Ford is about the only place where you will find the filter and gasket in the UK. I changed my filter about a year ago, i seem to remember it cost me around 90 from Ford. The filter (2 new o-rings, new shorter bolt) comes with everything you need apart from the pan gasket. You need about 4.25-4.50 litres of Mercon V, which is about just under 10.00 from Ford per litre. You can get this online, from places like american auto barn in 5 litre judges, which makes it a bit cheaper.
