does the pan on the gearbox contain oil or is it all clear so i can access the solinoids? also are they easy to take out? i have a slow 3rd gear engagement.

Mate the gearbox is one complicated bit of kit and costs a fortune to replace/overhaul why dont you consider changing/flushing the ATF 1st, its worth doin , might make all the difference ,did for me

well the gearbox oil in jus over a year old, its clean color still and filled to the limit line, i read on the rebuiled page that poor power supply could couse this, all want to do is check the connections on the solinoid and the solinoid it self, i just need to find out if the pan underneath it is loaded with oil?

Yes the pan is loaded with atf. It is not easy to get off. You need to either remove one cat or the front drive shaft. Be prepared to get drenched in atf.
